Industry Canada Meeting Space at Canadian Pavilion in Tunis
The "ICT 4 All" Exhibition was held in Tunis November 15-19, during the WSIS. The 90m2 Canadian Pavilion was situated in a visible location, with four federal government departments and agencies hosting the exhibition space at the Kram Conference Center from Nov. 15-19, 2005. The pavilion anchor was the International Development Research Center (IDRC). The other participants were Industry Canada, Statistics Canada, the Canadian e-policy Resource Centre and the Canadian International Development Agency(CIDA).
The Pavilion provided an opportunity to outline efforts undertaken by the Canadian Government in support of the WSIS action plan, with a specific emphasis on demonstrating Canada's work in the area of international Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) for development. Industry Canada (IC) was pleased to offer the use of its meeting space in the Canadian Pavilion to Canadian federal and provincial government departments and agencies and accredited civil society and private sector organizations who attended the WSIS in Tunisia. This offer provided an opportunity for those Canadian participants who did not have their own kiosk or pavilion to discuss their international "ICT for development" efforts with partners or potential partners.
