By eliminating tires as the initial access point for mice, this invention
provides a new
concept to prevent the infiltration of mice into a parked vehicle, where they
cause damage.
This invention provides a drive on, drive off dual purpose Apparatus that also
provides tire
protection from the harmful elements that cause tire cracking. This invention
is to be laid
flit in front of the vehicle tires, then driven forward onto the non-slip base
of the invention,
then, pull up the large replaceable polyethylene bag that is sandwiched and
attached
between two pieces of base material. The keyhole cut out on the side of the
bag allows the
user to pull the bag up to and around the axle and complete the wrap around
and
enclosure of the tire. The attached removable, reusable tie allows for the
cinching of the
top of the bag above the enclosed tire.

Revendications

VEHICLE TIRE MOUSE DETERRENT APPARATUS
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
This Vehicle Tire Mouse Deterrent Apparatus is a new perspective into helping
to
15 prevent mice from infiltrating parked vehicles, more specifically
recreational vehicles. The
major access point for mice on a parked vehicle is via the rubber tires. They
climb rubber
tires like a toy to other areas that lead to potential access points into the
vehicle such as
the frame, axles and plumbing. By eliminating tires as the starting access
point, mouse
control improves dramatically, thereby helping to eliminate unnecessary
cleaning,
2-0 sterilizing, vacuuming and in some cases replacing and is now a safer and
more pleasant
environment to spend time in The Hantavirus in humans can cause death and it
has even
linked almost entirely to human contact with dust contaminated with deer mouse
urine and
feces.
This invention pertains to parked vehicle rubber tires. More specifically,
recreational
1.5 vehicles which are parked for extended periods of time in inclement
weather. This base
with bag provides elevation from ground level implementing an isolated area
for the tire
rubber-to-ground contact portion of the vehicle. The polyethylene enclosure
provides UV
protection and protection from the harmful elements for the tire.
By exposing parked vehicle tires to the elements such as water, WA, mud, rain,
urine
30 and sunlight, a low mileage tire will lose some of its elasticity, causing
surface cracks to -
appear. Depending on the severity of the cracking, this maybe a reason to
replace the tire
prematurely, which has a negative impact on our environment. If it is not
replaced it can
lead to tire blowouts and even death
1

CA 02807412 2013-10-07
This invention possesses numerous benefits and advantages over other known
ways to park and or store vehicles with rubber tires. The most common way to
deal with
tire cracking and mouse infiltration, at present, is to park vehicle tires on
wooden boards,
put plywood or material in front of the tires, attempt to plug all access
holes in the bottom of
the vehicle and put Irish Spring soap, bleach and mouse traps in the vehicle.
While these
help, the plywood on the outside of the tire gives no protection on the inside
of the tire and
can blow over leaving the tire unprotected. Bleach and soap help but cannot be
lined
throughout the vehicle to provide enough of a deterrent to keep mice out of
the vehicle and
a trap kills, stinks and then its usage is unavailable for further
infiltration of mice. Once on
/0 the frame mice can, in time, dig and burrow through plugged access holes
and the gain
entry into the parked vehicle.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Note: With reference to the drawings, some of these claims are not
illustratable.
The Vehicle Tire Mouse Deterrent Apparatus as shown in Fig. 1, cannot stand
upright in
the open position and is an illustration that shows the Design of the
Apparatus for
descriptive purposes only.
The Vehicle Tire Mouse Deterrent Apparatus can be opened up to a drive on
position
lay, then positioned in front of the vehicle tires which are then driven on to
the
Apparatus (See Fig.3 and Fig.4)
The Base portion 1a of the Vehicle Tire Mouse Deterrent Apparatus as shown in
Fig. 1,
o consists of two identical pieces of base material la that is waterproof laiv
with a width
1ai sufficient to allow elevation for the complete tire tread, a thickness
laii to allow
isolation and insulation from the ground for the tire, a length lay that
allows for easy
operation of The Vehicle Tire Mouse Deterrent Apparatus and it has a
composition
made in such a way to provide non sliplaii and stable Base laiii to drive the
parked
5 vehicle tire up and on, as shown in Fig.3.
The Vehicle Tire Mouse Deterrent Apparatus as shown in Fig.land 2 is held
together by
the two headed screws 1 c, and the Polyethylene Bag lb is sandwiched and
centered
between the rubber Base material la. Replacement of the Bag I b can be made by

removing the screws lc then remove and replace the damaged Polyethylene Bag
lb,
ao and screw the Apparatus back together again.
Wherein The Vehicle Tire Mouse Deterrent Apparatus is virtually not climbable
by mice
as it has a thickness lbi great enough to provide a surface that mice can't
get a grip on
it in order to climb up it and has a U.V. Inhibitor 2 added to the
Polyethylene formula
during the manufacturing process, to provide protection from the harmful
elements of
as the sun. (See Fig 1 and Fig.4).
4

CA 02807412 2014-03-20
The Bag portion of The Vehicle Tire Mouse Deterrent Apparatus has a grommet 3
installed as shown in Fig.1 that provides a readily available 3a storage
purpose 3b.
The Vehicle Tire Mouse Deterrent Apparatus has a reusable cinch 5 that is used
to
cinch a bag securely around the axle (See Fig.4) at the top of the bag lbiv,
in such a
way to prevent mice from gaining access to the parked vehicle tire.
The Vehicle Tire Mouse Deterrent Apparatus has a keyhole style cut, cut out of
the side
of the bag 4 as shown in Fig.1, which allows the bag to enclose the tire 1bii
and to be
/t) tightened lbiv around the axle in such a way to prevent mice from climbing
the back
portion of the tire to gain access to the axle and ultimately the inside of
the parked
vehicle. (See Fig.4). The Bag lb has a Gusset lbiii formed as part of the
composition of
the bottom portion of the Bag which allows easier and better placement of the
bag when
replacing the Bag. (See Fig.2)
