Basic incorporation

Step 1 of 7: About your articles of incorporation

Articles of incorporation are the legal document that governs the structure of your corporation.

You have chosen basic incorporation, which means your corporation will get predetermined articles of incorporation. You can amend them in the future, if needed.

  • Numbered corporate name

Your corporation gets an assigned numbered name

    (for example: 12345678 Canada Inc.).

  • Minimum and maximum number of directors

    Min. 1 - Max. 10

  • Private business

Like most federal corporations, your corporation will be considered non-distributing. This means that it does not sell shares on a public stock exchange. You can still issue and sell shares privately.

Not what you’re looking for? To get a corporate word name and tailor your articles of incorporation, use custom incorporation instead.
