Join us on December 15, 2021 at 1pm (EST) as we continue the monthly IP Talks series brought to you by the IP Village*. In this fourth 1-hour webinar, you will learn about the key considerations to protect your IP when taking your business abroad, the fundamentals about international IP systems, services offered and get specifics tips from experts.  

Foundation: Introduction to protecting your IP rights abroad (GAC and CIPO - 10mins):

  • Hear about critical considerations for when you apply for IP rights abroad
  • Learn how to engage with your IP professional
  • Get an overview of the International IP protection systems

Services and information to help you connect abroad (GAC-TCS and EDC – 20 minutes)

  • Learn how EDC can help you discover new markets, finding new customers.
  • Learn what the trade commissioner service (TCS) does to help you grow your business abroad.

In practice: Key IP and business considerations for doing business in US, China and Europe (TCS and IPIC, 30 minutes)

Learn from IP professionals and trade commissioners about what to expect when you take your business abroad in the US, China and Europe. For each market, key takeaways include

  • Main differences in the local IP system as compared to the Canadian one
  • How to ensure you get quality IP rights in the target market
  • Specific trade and business considerations when creating your export strategy in regards to these three markets
