*Note: Coverage within a community will depend on its size, broadband network design, local topography and other factors. In some instances, Internet service providers (ISP) will not be able to provide service to 100 percent of households within a community designated as serviced. The Government of Canada does not support any particular ISP and cannot guarantee that this information is accurate.

Backbone and last-mile coverage information has been collected by ISED through consultation with ISPs, the CRTC, industry associations, provinces and territories, and other stakeholders.

Rural communities that are more than 2 km from an access point to high-capacity backbone are eligible for new backbone funding. Communities that are not shown on this map are considered to have access to high-capacity backbone but may be eligible for capacity upgrades or resiliency projects.

** Areas (shown as hexagons) which do not have any existing broadband service of 5 Mbps or greater are eligible for new last-mile funding. Areas that are not shown but are partially-served at 5 Mbps may be eligible for last-mile funding.
