Nova Scotia Community College is receiving funding for projects at their Bridgewater, Stellarton and Dartmouth campuses under the Post-Secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund, which aims to reinvigorate Canada's research and science base, address existing infrastructure needs while contributing to Canada's long-term innovation and sustainability objectives.

Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship (COVE)

This project will refurbish the facilities and the wharves at the former Coast Guard Base lands on the waterfront in Dartmouth, NS into an ocean innovation centre. At Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship, global leaders in ocean science and research will work together with start-ups, research and development intensive companies, industry, Nova Scotia Community College, Dalhousie University and other universities and colleges across a variety of technologies and applications to create a cluster of marine innovation and commercialization.
Construction of a New Trades Wing

This project will support the construction of a separate, purpose-built, educational trades building at the Pictou Campus. This building will provide specialized training infrastructure required to meet industry demand and will accommodate Carpentry, Cabinetry, Motor Vehicle Repair and Heavy Duty Equipment. It will be certified to LEED Gold Standards.
Replacement of Exterior Wall System

Total project cost: $5,936,152
The Exterior Wall Replacement Project will ensure that the Lunenburg campus continues to provide the specialized and applied training that local and regional industry requires.
