Help inspire the next generation of Canadian scientists
There is no better way to encourage youth than by having scientists share interesting and fun stories of day-to-day science work and talk about what led them to choose a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
Actua is a national charity that is preparing youth to be innovators and leaders by engaging them in exciting and accessible STEM experiences that build critical skills and confidence. Actua reaches youth through two main mechanisms: a national network of 35 university and college-based members, and a national Outreach Team. Together we inspire over 250,000 youth every year, reaching every province and territory in Canada through the delivery of summer camps, classroom workshops, clubs, and community outreach activities.
Let's Talk Science is an award-winning, national, charitable organization focused on education and outreach to support youth development. We create and deliver unique learning programs and services that engage children, youth and educators in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Scientists in School provides young scientists from Kindergarten to Grade 8 with classroom workshops that are curriculum-aligned and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) focused. We extend science learning outside of the classroom with community-based workshops for ages 3-12 at camps, daycares, after-4 programs, libraries, and more. Our presenters bring subject expertise, discovery-based learning methodologies, and specialized materials and equipment making every workshop hands-on.
Virtual Researcher On Call (VROC) is an educational program that connects K-12 classrooms with Canadian subject matter experts for customized, interactive video calls. The best part? VROC is available to teachers across Canada at
no cost. Other organizations
