[Camille stands in an office space. Architectural drawings are on the wall.]
Female narrator: This is Camille. Camille is an architect and entrepreneur. Her STEM journey started in elementary school.
Camille: Both my parents came to Canada from Trinidad. They were really instrumental in encouraging all their kids to do well in math. I've always loved the visual arts and had a strong interest in math. Architecture was, you know, a strong combination of the two.
Female narrator: STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Did you know only 22 percent of all Canadians working in STEM are women? But the future's looking bright.
Camille: There's a lot of women running their own firms, leading huge design projects and making changes throughout your local built environment every day.
[Camille, in the office space, looks at a scale model of a building, then at photos of buildings.]
Female narrator: Camille is also the managing director for an organization called BEAT aimed at helping women and minorities network and advance in the architecture profession.
[Camille stands, with arms crossed, in the office space.]
[Text on screen: My advice is to not be afraid]
