Alán Aspuru-Guzik: I am Alán Aspuru-Guzik. I will be a professor of chemistry and computer science at the University of Toronto, and currently I'm a professor of chemistry at Harvard University. We're going to be building an automated, self-driving laboratory that is going to be discovering new materials for renewable energy.

The world has no time for a transition to renewable energy, so we need to rethink the process of scientific discovery to make new materials in an unprecedented speed. Many scientists spend their time making progressive discoveries. What I've done in my career is try to think about what are the areas that can disrupt my field, that completely change it at its core.
