Nǐ hǎo (hello), I'm Bardish Chagger, Canada's Minister of Small Business and Tourism and Leader of the Government in the House of Commons.
This year we're celebrating the Canada-China Year of Tourism!
This is an incredible opportunity to grow Canada's tourism industry and showcase the close ties between our two countries.
We've been getting ready by opening new visa application centres in China and marketing Canada to Chinese citizens.
We want to make sure our visitors see the best of Canada – from authentic Indigenous experiences to unique regional cuisines and once-in-a-lifetime adventures in our national parks.
Now it's your turn!
We've set up a website full of useful information to help you welcome a record number of visitors from China in the coming years.
We want to help you get prepared: Chinese visitors to Canada will do things a little differently.
For instance, did you know that they're avid users of mobile payments?
Or that Chinese social media like Weibo and WeChat are the top way travellers find out about – and book – their travel?
You can find these tips and more on our website: Canada.ca/CCYT2018
So check it out, and get ready.
From coast to coast to coast, we're getting ready to welcome a record number of visitors!
