Management Response and Action Plan —Evaluation of Genome Canada
The findings and recommendations of the Evaluation of Genome Canada were provided to the Science Programs and Partnerships Branch of the Science and Research Sector at Innovation Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), as well as to Genome Canada. Management has been consulted and agrees with the findings included in this report and will take action to address all applicable recommendations by June 2021.

|ISED's Science and Research Sector should ensure Genome Canada coordinates with the Canada Foundation for Innovation to better align the operating funding they provide to the technology platforms, in order to minimize duplication of effort and focus Genome Canada's funding on the technology development and competitiveness of the platforms.||
ISED SRS will support Genome Canada's examination of the rationale, coordination efforts and current allocation of federal funding for the technology platforms.
SRS will further ensure Genome Canada and the Canada Foundation for Innovation collaborate and consider options to minimize any duplication. Consideration will be given to eligible expenses and opportunities for greater coordination as well as a re-examination of program parameters if warranted.
