August 26, 2014 — OTTAWA, ON — Competition Bureau
The Competition Bureau today published draft Guidelines for the Production of Electronically Stored Information for public consultation.
The draft guidelines set out the Competition Bureau’s preferred standard format for receiving electronically stored information in response to both compulsory and voluntary processes used during the course of an inquiry or investigation under the Competition Act.
The issuance of this draft for consultation, for which members of the National Competition Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association provided input, supports the Bureau’s Action Plan on Transparency, which aims to promote the development of a more cost-effective, efficient and responsive agency, while providing Canadians with more opportunities to learn about the Bureau’s work.
Interested parties are invited to provide comments on the draft Guidelines by email, fax or regular mail no later than October 27, 2014, to:
50 Victoria Street
Responses will be posted on the Bureau’s website, unless it is specifically requested that they be kept confidential.
