The Competition Bureau has released its 2015‑2018 Strategic Vision and 2015‑2016 Annual Plan, two key components of its new integrated planning approach. This approach strengthens the link between the Bureau’s actions and its longer‑term goals, ensuring that Canadians continue to benefit from a wide variety of products and services at competitive prices.
The 2015‑2018 Strategic Vision sets out the five strategic objectives that will guide the Bureau’s work for Canadians over the next three years. Throughout 2015‑2018, the Bureau will 1) increase compliance, 2) empower Canadians, 3) promote competition, 4) collaborate with partners, and 5) champion excellence.
These three‑year strategic objectives emphasize that:
- Safeguarding Canadians against anti‑competitive conduct through active enforcement will continue to be the Bureau’s main focus;
- Strengthening competition promotion and awareness will be essential to realizing all the benefits of a competitive marketplace in Canada; and
- Continuing to increase collaboration, openness and transparency will make the Bureau more efficient and effective in delivering the benefits of a competitive marketplace to Canadians.
The Bureau’s Strategic Vision is accompanied by the 2015-2016 Annual Plan, which outlines the specific ways the Bureau will deliver on each of its strategic objectives this year.
