John Pecman, Commissioner of Competition, is pleased to announce that Ms. Vicky Eatrides has been appointed to the position of Deputy Commissioner of the Competition Promotion Branch, effective August 31, 2015
The Competition Promotion Branch is responsible for, among other things, the Bureau’s advocacy efforts, inter-governmental and international affairs, corporate compliance, and outreach.
Ms. Eatrides comes to the Competition Bureau from Natural Resources Canada, where she held the position of Director General, Strategic Policy and Planning, at the Major Projects Management Office since 2013. Prior to this, Ms. Eatrides was a valued member of the Bureau team from 2005 to 2013. During her eight years at the Bureau, she contributed to a variety of initiatives and worked in the areas of legislative affairs and mergers, and supported three Commissioners in the Commissioner’s Office. Prior to joining the Bureau, Ms. Eatrides practised federal regulatory law at Stikeman Elliott LLP.
- Ms. Eatrides is a member of the Ontario Bar and holds degrees in Economics and Common Law.
- Ms. Eatrides taught the Competition Law course at Queen’s University for many years.
