Publication of RSS-248, Issue 1
Notice is hereby given that Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has published the following standard:
- Radio Standards Specification RSS-248, Issue 1, Radio Local Area Network (RLAN) Devices Operating in the 5925-7125 MHz Band which sets out the certification requirements for licence-exempt, RLAN devices operating indoors in the 5925-7125 MHz frequency band.
General information
All testing laboratories currently recognized for RSS-247 will be recognized for RSS-248 automatically. The Wireless Device Testing Laboratories webpage has been updated accordingly.
In addition, all certification bodies will be recognized for RSS-248 automatically as part of their Radio Scope 1 recognition.
Testing laboratories and certification bodies who submit renewals to the department after May 19, 2022 must ensure that RSS-248 is included on their scope of accreditation.
Our Radio Scope and Radio Equipment Standards list will be amended accordingly.
