Warning: Beware of email scam relating to My ISED Account

The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) has noticed recent fraudulent activity relating to email requests, where a sender claiming to be CIPO is asking the user to change their My ISED Account password.

While these fraudulent emails are designed to closely resemble CIPO's correspondence, they are not from CIPO and should be discarded. If you want to confirm the authenticity of a CIPO email, you can contact the CIPO Client Service Centre.

For information on scams or to report deceptive telemarketing, visit the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre website or contact them toll free at 1-888-495-8501. If you believe that you may be the victim of fraud or have given personal or financial information unwittingly, please contact your local police service.
