Fees for geographical indications and official marks
From: Canadian Intellectual Property Office
You must pay different fees for services in connection with geographical indications and official marks.
fee adjustment: On , the fees for a request for protection of a geographical indication, for a statement of objection to a geographical indication, and for a request for giving public notice of an official mark will increase by 2%, in accordance with the Service Fees Act.
As a result, the amounts shown in the Tariff of Fees of the Trademarks Regulations may not be up-to-date.
The fee amount that you must pay for services that are subject to the annual adjustment will depend on the date on which the fee is received by the Office, not the date on which the service was originally requested. For example, if you request the protection of a geographical indication before January 1 but pay the prescribed fee after that date, you will need to pay the adjusted fee for the new year.
