The Marrakesh Treaty
The Marrakesh Treaty is an international agreement that will make it easier to create and share accessible versions of books with people around the world.
On June 22, 2016, Bill C-11, An Act to amend the Copyright Act (access to copyrighted works or other subject-matter for persons with perceptual disabilities) received royal assent. The amendments to the Copyright Act enable Canada to be among the first countries in the world to accede to the Marrakesh Treaty.
