Investment Will Help Develop Cutting-Edge Flight Simulators
Saint-Laurent, Quebec, October 25, 2010—The Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry, today announced a repayable investment of $18.6 million in a $61.9-million research and development project being undertaken by Mechtronix Systems Inc. This investment is being made through the Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative (SADI).
"With this repayable funding, Mechtronix Systems will be able to build its in-house capabilities to develop flight simulator training products,
" said Minister Clement. "With the economic recovery still fragile, hard-working men and women in Canada's aerospace sector can rest assured that our government is on their side.

Mechtronix Systems' products will have improved capabilities, such as increased performance and energy efficiency. The work for this project will be carried out with collaborators such as Université Laval and Composites BHS Inc.

SADI Investment in Mechtronix Flight Simulator Project
Through the Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative (SADI), the Government of Canada is making a repayable investment of $18.6 million towards a research and development (R&D) project by Mechtronix Systems Inc. to build in-house capabilities for the development of flight simulator training products.
The R&D project for flight simulation devices will result in innovative products with features such as increased energy efficiency and performance capabilities. The work for this project will be carried out with collaborators, such as Université Laval and private sector partners.
