4.1 Granting of an unconditionally lengthened initial reverification period to qualifying meters
An unconditionally lengthened initial reverification period may be granted to qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices (listed in Table 1):
- initially verified on or after their assigned applicability date, or
- retroactively, if still within an initial reverification period as of their assigned applicability date and if not subjected to calibration adjustments or component exchanges during that period.
4.2 Granting of subsequent reverification periods to qualifying meters
4.2.1 Exception
The subsequent reverification period associated with a lengthened initial reverification period may not be granted retroactively to qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices (listed in Table 1) that are still within a subsequent reverification period as of the assigned applicability date.
4.2.2 Reserviced and reverified gas meters and ancillary devices
The subsequent reverification period associated with a lengthened initial reverification period may be granted to qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices (listed in Table 1) that are reserviced and reverified by 100% inspection or acceptance sampling on or after the assigned applicability date.
4.2.3 Renewed and reverified gas meters and ancillary devices
A subsequent reverification period equal in duration to a lengthened initial reverification period may be granted to qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices (listed in Table 1) that are renewed and reverified on or after the assigned applicability date.
4.2.4 Compliance sampled gas meters and ancillary devices
Where qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices (listed in Table 1) are compliance sampled on or after their assigned applicability date, the available reverification period extensions are based on the applicable lengthened initial reverification period.
5.0 Gas meters and ancillary devices qualifying for a conditionally lengthened initial reverification period
Manufacturer | Model(s) | Approval no. |
Device type and capacity | Applicability |
---|---|---|---|---|
GE Oil & Gas (Dresser Inc.) | D800 EVC module FW ver. 1.74 |
AG-0611 | Electronic volume conversion device (T only) | All meters granted an initial reverification period as of January 1, 2015. Conditional on successful completion of interim sampling in accordance with S-S-05 by June 30, 2021. |

AG-0606 | Electronic volume conversion device (PTZ) | All meters granted an initial reverification period as of January 1, 2018. Conditional on successful completion of interim sampling in accordance with S-S-05 by June 30, 2024. |
5.1 Granting of a conditionally lengthened initial reverification period
A conditionally lengthened initial reverification period may be granted to qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices (listed in Table 2) initially verified on or after the assigned applicability date, subject to the following conditions:
- Interim sampling in accordance with specification S-S-05 is to be successfully completed by the date given in Table 2.
- Full adherence to the requirements of bulletin GEN-27 for recording initial reverification periods is required.
5.2 Upgrading qualification from conditional to unconditional
Gas meters and ancillary devices (listed in Table 2) satisfying the conditions under section 5.1 will be moved to Table 1 and have their lengthened initial reverification period recognized as unconditional. As required by bulletin GEN-27, affected meter owners will be required to update their meter records to reflect the lengthened initial reverification period.
5.3 Conditions for qualification not met
Gas meters and ancillary devices (listed in Table 2) not satisfying the conditions under section 5.1 will be moved to Table 3 and have their qualification for a conditionally lengthened initial reverification period revoked.
6.0 Gas meters and ancillary devices no longer qualifying for a lengthened initial reverification period
Manufacturer | Model(s) | Approval no. |
Device type and capacity | Applicability |
---|---|---|---|---|
Elster American Meter | AC-250R ACM-250R |
AG-0355 | Diaphragm meter 5.5 m3 /hr (air) 195 ft.3 /hr (air) |

6.1 Revocation of unconditionally lengthened initial reverification period
Where performance results at preceding, interim or future inspections are found to be unsatisfactory, gas meters and ancillary devices listed in Table 1 may be moved to Table 3 and have their qualification for an unconditionally lengthened initial reverification period revoked.
