Dawna Hales-Massé

Dawna Hales-Massé of École Margaret Underhill in Winnipeg, Manitoba, accepted the challenge of leading the school's first multi-age classroom. In addition, she regularly brings students together with their parents to focus on learning. Her students lead conferences for their parents during which they discuss their progress in the classroom. Ms. Hales-Massé has also developed a series of take-home science projects for her Grade 7 and 8 students to do with their parents. These efforts, combined with before- and after-school help, have enabled Ms. Hales-Massé to bring out the best in her students.
