Teaching approach:

  • Integrate the sciences to encourage a sense of inquiry and an understanding of the principal laws governing the way the world works.
  • Work to ensure all sections receive the same information to keep students and teachers unified.
  • Help all students achieve functional bilingualism.

Outstanding achievements:

Led by Ms. Leiberman, the team oversaw the development of an integrated science program for students in grades 7 and 8 that has been adopted province-wide.

Worked with the educational channel Télé-Québec to adapt integrated science program for television. Continue to work with the organization to develop videos and manuals for schools.

In the spring of 1999, 16 students wrote external exam set by the Princeton University testing service. Five earned the highest possible grade of 5 and the remaining 11 earned a 4 rating.

Ms. Hunter's Advanced Placement students are two years younger than their American counterparts. Despite this, they have achieved outstanding results.

Rave reviews:

"Kathay has been a teacher in our integrated science program for the past three years. After only one year, we selected her to become one of our trainers." Official, Centre for Communication and Educational Technology, University of Alabama

"I am particularly pleased to note Jennifer's role as mentor to students, many of whom are female, for whom science was not perceived to be a welcoming and reasonable option."

School administrator

"Linda Leiberman is the kind of teacher you want for your own kids (and wish you had when you were in high school!)." Télé-Québec official
