By teaching children to care for all living things, they learn to care for themselves and each other.
Each child is a unique and precious individual.

Ms. Sweet's commitment to child development and literacy includes:
- writing and publishing an article on balanced literary, used for primary grade professional development sessions in schools in the division.
- nurturing reluctant learners using materials and strategies from a language development workshop.
- implementing guided reading, interactive writing, phonological awareness, non-fiction writing and cross-grade programs.
- designing programs based on children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical levels of development.
She is recognized for her outstanding accomplishment in the successful completion of the Family and School Together (FAST) program. Mrs. Sweet also builds strong family and community connections. Parents are encouraged to play an active role in the learning of their children.
