Mr. Dankevy gives immediate and meaningful feedback to students on a daily basis, providing opportunities for problem-solving and the development of leadership skills. He is flexible when faced with equipment and material constraints.
He encourages gender equity in a male-dominated field of study by establishing a safe learning environment for all students. There has been an increase in the number of female students because of Dankevy's teaching style. Over 100 students are placed on the waiting lists for his classes annually.
Mr. Dankevy adapts subject matter, assignments, exercises, assessment and evaluations to meet the needs of students, including developmentally challenged students who are integrated in his programs.
He also views community connections as important in demonstrating the relevance of subject to society. For instance, Dankevy has created a strong bond with a private companies such as Birdcage Productions and Long and McQuaid.
