Notice No. DGTP-003-03 — Petition to the Governor in Council

Notice is hereby given that a petition from TELUS Communications Inc. has been received by the Governor in Council under section 12 of the Telecommunications Act in regard to the following decision issued by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC): Telecom Decision CRTC 2002-67, TELUS Communications Inc. - Application to review and vary Decision 2000-745 and Decision 2001-238. The request is based on several reasons included in the petition.

In Telecom Decision CRTC 2002-67, the CRTC denied TELUS Communications Inc.'s application to review and vary Decision 2000-745 and Decision 2001-238. TELUS had requested that the Commission vary determinations relating to the manner in which subsidies for local telephone service in high-cost areas are calculated.
