Notice No. SMSE-002-20 — Release of RSS-222, issue 2 and DBS-01, issue 2
Notice is hereby given that Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has published the following standards:
- Radio Standards Specification RSS-222, issue 2, White Space Devices (WSDs), which sets out the certification requirements for licence-exempt, radio apparatus operating in the frequency bands 54-72 MHz, 76-88 MHz, 174-216 MHz, 470-608 MHz and 657-663 MHz, known as white space devices (WSDs).
- Database Specifications DBS-01, issue 2, White Space Database Specifications, which sets out the technical requirements for the designation of a database capable of identifying available channels for use by white space devices in the white space frequency bands (i.e. 54-72 MHz, 76-88 MHz, 174-216 MHz, 470-608 MHz and 657-663 MHz).
The above documents will come into force upon publication on the Official publications section of the Spectrum management and telecommunications website.
The Radio equipment standards list will be amended accordingly.
Comments and suggestions for improving this standards may be submitted online using the Standard Change Request form.
