Requirements to apply for an AIS AtoN

Approval must be obtained from the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) before an AIS AtoN MMSI can be issued by ISED.  Contact the CCG at AIS_licences-SIA_Permis.XNCR@dfo-mpo.gc.ca to request an approval.  Once you receive the approval, attach a copy with Form G.

The Canadian Cost Guard also recommend to consult their website at http://www.marinfo.gc.ca/e-nav/docs/aton-mmsi-auth-eng.php before submitting for an AIS / AtoN form

IMPORTANT: Radio equipment must be certified under the applicable Canadian Radio Standard Specifications for use in Canada.

Once you have completed the form, click Submit at the bottom of the page. The form will be directed to the appropriate district office based on the applicant's address. For inquiries regarding MMSIs, contact your nearest ISED district office.
